Links Thus Far
Hello, 13th Warrior Slashers and Generally Wonderful People (not to mention fast reviewers! Thanks, guys!). Mlyn wanted me to post the links to all the 13th warrior slash I've found thus far (in my semi-desperate search for more of this wonderful universe). At any rate, here's what I have so far, as well as a short review of each. If you know of anything not covered in this list, for the love of God, let me in on it. I'm hoping to create an archive sooner or later for the Herger/Ahmed pairing.
Some of this you may already have, as this is where I got some of my fics, so don't mind the repetition.
Anywhoo, here's the list:
First and foremost, Mlyn's slash stories, which I won't say much about since she runs this place. Gods and Monsters, its sequel The Tunisian, and, finally Roads and Their Travelers. These are wonderful fics. Everyone should read the classic Herger/Ahmed epic Gods and Monsters!
Another lovely Herger/Ahmed fic comes from Keelywolfe. This story is deliciously NC-17, and pretty well written. I like her characterizations, but everyone has their own envisionment of Herger and Ahmed. Trickster is well worth a look.
Debel's untitled Ahmed/Herger fic is also yummy and smutty, though perhaps not as attentive to character.
Cheyenne Dancer's Herger/Ahmed A Bond Between Warriors is a little purple prose-y for me, but it's satisfyingly lengthy and detailed. Definitely NC-17, with more detailed smut than the stories above.
From the same website is well-written but somewhat unsatisfying pre-slash from lofn entitled Visiting Memories. It lies - it's not really NC-17.
Here's a beautiful little PG-13 fic by applecameron titled My Brothers. It's just darn good writing.
Hergerbabe re-wrote the film to make it slashier. It's not the world's greatest writing, but it's a neat idea. Respectable. My 13th Warrior.
Delphi (atdelphi on LJ) wrote beautiful and hopeful Herger/Ahmed preslash titled Little Brother. She put it back up just so I could use it for the archive (she was embarrassed about the story), so definitely, if you can, send her an email telling her how amazing the fic is and thank her!
The fics written for the Yuletide events are incredibly beautifully written, detailed, and delicious. As far as writing is concerned, I think Nos4a2no9's Go Bravely to the Morning goes home with the prize, but I'm also really fond of the different character dynamics in Repaired with Peace by Stuffwelike. Both are satisfyingly long. Check out the general 13th warrior section for more yumminess fanficiton wise.
Well, that's all I have so far. Hopefully it's got at least one thing that you haven't read yet : ).

Anyway, there should definitely be an archive - someone should do it!

I copied the direct link to the stories and then removed the web archive code to see if the site would still load the page, and it worked. I don't know why I can't load the main page, then.
So here's Cheyenne's story without the frames on her site. A Bond Between Warriors (http://de.geocities.com/bremy_logan/Cheyenne/Bond.html).
And Lofn's: Visiting Memories (http://de.geocities.com/b13warrior/Memories.html).

I also would accept a challenge. As in, "hey I'd love to see...." and then I would toss it over and over in my mind until a fic popped out.

Hm, a challenge...I've tried instituting a challenge for this fandom before, at the small fandom fest community, to little result. But how about: Herger meeting Arabs for the first time. (Doesn't have to be Ahmed.) What he thinks of them, how he acts around them.

thanks for the kind words
Looking forward to reading what everyone else has come up with.

It's by Hergerbabe, and there's only a cached copy of the fic. Return to Venden (http://web.archive.org/web/20021129001529/http://www.geocities.com/hergerbabe/rv1.html).
