I found this item in the Odds & Ends section of the main section of the Seattle Times (Sept. 25):

Film director sentenced
Director John McTiernan was sentenced Monday to four months in federal prison for lying to the FBI about hiring indicted private investigator Anthony Pellicano to wiretap a veteran film producer seven years ago.
As we all know, John McTiernan directed The 13th Warrior.
I'm just now thinking, Hm, seven years ago would have been only a year after The 13th Warrior was in theatres...
